Raised in Tribute:
$50.60Willi Quednau was born in 1918 and passed away in 2006. He left behind his loving wife Johanne, their two children and three grandchildren.
He had a great sense of humour and - as his grandchildren came into the world in his late 60s - always had time to play. 😊
He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in his late 70s / early 80s and the challenges connected to the disease grew every year. Towards the end of his life, he lost the ability to walk and had a hard time communicating with those around him. It was a challenge to watch the man who was my childhood hero slowly lose ways to express himself.
Donations made through this page go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. We are grateful for every donation made in my granddad's name and hope that the ongoing research will help those affected by the disease lead more independent lives.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
