$10029.50With heavy hearts, the family of Thomas Andrew Condon Sr. (74), announces his passing. Tom succumbed to a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease on August 27, 2020.
A loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. Tom is survived by his wife (Peggy), his two sons (Tommy and Richie), two daughters-in-law (Kristin and Tara), five grandchildren (Meghan, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Charles and Emily), a sister (Mary Ellen), former spouse (Linda), 26 nieces/nephews and countless friends/colleagues.
People often looked up to Tom, not just because of his commanding 6’8” presence, but because of the person he was… how he lived his life. Anyone who knew Tom well knew he was a champion of the underdog, or those needing a helping hand. Generous, strong willed, driven and intelligent are just a few adjectives that best capture Tom‘s character. He was relentlessly focused on raising “his boys” with the core values which would allow them to lead happy and successful lives. He preached the importance of gratitude, family first, integrity, loyalty, and above all else an unwavering work ethic. When he shared life lessons, none were complete without also addressing the need to be “situationally aware” at all times.
Tom‘s approach to life was shaped by the many jobs he held in his youth. This included running a soda fountain at the local pharmacy, setting up pins at the bowling alley between frames, being a telephone line repairman and working as a toll collector to name a few. Despite his insatiable work ethic, he found time for hobbies including horseback riding, scuba diving and flying his Cessna 182. He was the proud owner of the Moultonborough Airport in New Hampshire for over 20 years where he was able to spend time in his favorite place - Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire.
In light of the current COVID-19 situation, a private ceremony will be conducted for Tom’s immediate family. A celebration of Tom’s life will be scheduled in 2021.
