Glen Spears was a beloved husband to Jewell Spears and father to Alan, Sonya, Ann, Sheila and Amy Spears. He worked hard for many years at the local post office to provide a stable life for his family. Even though Glen was a hard worker, he always made time for fun with his family; whether it was vacations to Houston Woods, reading to his children, going to the movies, or listening to music.
After Glen retired from the post office, he enjoyed daily trips to the public library and walks around the neighborhood. Until Parkinson's disease set in. Slowly, Glen's mobility and access to the outside world shrank. Throughout, Glen kept up his good spirits. Not once did he utter a complaint or curse his condition.
This page is to celebrate the memory of Glen and to remember all of the great times family and friends shared with Glen before he succumbed to Parkinson's disease.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
