David M. Thomas was born in Waterville, Maine in 1934, the son of M. Richard Thomas and Jean B. Thomas. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1953, and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army just after the Korean War. In addition, David worked for Fisher Engineering manufacturer of snowplows for many years. He was best known as Mr. T at Elm City Driving School which he owned and operated with his family from 1994 until his retirement in 2007.
Unfortunately our beloved father, husband and special man to so many people who loved him dearly, David M. Thomas, died from complications of Parkinson's at the ripe young age of 80 on May 16, 2015 at the Togus V.A. Hospice Center in Augusta. He was surrounded by his family as he took his last breath. Although he was unable to speak, he could hear us as we all told him how much we loved him...and just before he met with the angels and our heavenly father, he shed a tear and we knew he said I love you too. David M. Thomas now rests in peace and is in a better place now for he suffered from this dreadful disease long enough.
He is survived by his wife Juliette (Turmelle) Thomas; his children Pam and Darrell Hachey, Paula Thomas, and James Thomas; his grandchildren Brad Thomas, Cory and wife Kelli Fales, Jessica Fales and husband P. Tyson Weaver, Tiana Thomas and Taylan Thomas; as well as his great-grandchildren Emma, Kayla, Baby Fales, Troy Hachey; and many nieces and nephews.
Please help Sam Fox reach his goal of one million dollars! All donations go directly to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation, so feel free to give whatever you can, whether $1 or $5 or more, every penny helps and it will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
James Thomas and his family.
