Raised in Tribute:
$1672.00June M. (Yamauchi) Lee joined her Lord on July 25, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas after years of a very brave battle fighting against Parkinson. She was born on June 16, 1937 in Lawai, Hawaii
She attended college at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana where she met the love of her life John. She and John graduated from Taylor and then moved to Lafayette, Indiana where her sons Andrew and Nathan were born. In 1969 they moved to San Antonio, Texas. While here she worked as an interior designer, a travel agent, and a manager for a travel agency. She also enjoyed different types of arts and crafts including sculpting and painting. She and the family enjoyed travelling, visiting many places in the United States and Europe. John and she also visited Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. She started showing signs of Parkinson's disease in 2005. This unfortunately made it very difficult to travel like she and John had hoped for during retirement. Likewise this made it difficult to continue her sculpting and painting. Despite aggressive medical therapy and even consideration of Deep Brain Stimulation, her symptoms continued to progress. Her wishes upon her passing was that continued research into treatment and a cure for Parkinson's disease will be advanced. We will miss her ever present smile and her optimistic and bright personality.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
