Raised in Tribute:
$178.00Dr. Jamshid “Jimmy” Ghosseiri, was the Director of Microbiology at Mt. Diablo Hospital in Northern California. A devoted husband to his wife Shokoo. Jimmy was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, devoted son/brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He moved here at the age of 20 from Iran to pursue his medical degree. He played high level soccer at San Jose State University, and got his PHD at Stanford.
He was a hard worker, proud to be an American, referred to his bountiful garden as his Victory Garden, an avid tennis player, cyclist, and an extraordinary photographer.
After his retirement, he lived happily every day in his garden, baking and cooking with his wife, ping pong, and being that relative with 100% attendance to every birthday, baptism, graduation, performance, etc., because his family was his pride.
Sadly, this man of action and zest for life started having hand tremors. Those tremors continued for years and were later diagnosed as Parkinson’s. He used every minute of his good health during that decline to continue to do the things he loved with the family he loved.
Sadly, the symptoms of Parkinson’s went from mild for 6 ½ years to a growing intensity. The last year was a bumpy ride for him and his family with many trips to the ER and many days of pain and frustration. Through it all Jimmy was strong and kept a lot of his pain silent. His wife was always by his side, his family was never far, and with all of the love and quality medical care Jimmy succumbed to the life-ending symptoms of Parkinson’s which were complicated by Covid-19. Jimmy passed away on July 11, 2020 at 8:30 in the morning, in keeping with being an eternal early riser.
Jimmy was never far from a smile, even when times were at their hardest, and he would want all of us to do the same, and to celebrate his life. Most importantly as an accomplished scientist and doctor, he would not want to see flowers but rather progress.
To honor that wish, please consider, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the organization who has the power and determination to find a cure, to ease the pain, to give hope.
Thank you!
