Raised in Tribute:
$2150.00He was "A Man For All Seasons", everyones role model and inspiration to work hard and play just as hard. He was a towering man of strength and great presence. He met the love of his life, Alyson, while working at McDonnell Douglas. They were married 42 years. It was, what people called "a true love story". He was an outdoors man in every way; hunting, golfing, baseball, college star football player, but most of all he was a devoted, skilled fisherman. His "Heaven on Earth" was San Felipe in Baja on the Sea of Cortez. That was until he found the Rogue River in Oregon. It was salmon fishing that, next to Alyson, won his heart. They always had a motorhome so his 7 day fishing vacations turned into 6 weeks with Alyson by his side.
Ray was diagnosed in 2010 with Parkinson's Disease and was blessed enough that it didn't slow him down for many years. His struggles really began with other ailments which complicated his Parkinson's. Regardless he never slowed down until the last three years of his life and even then he fought hard and would not give up. He was everyone's hero, especially his wife, Alyson. He wrote her little love notes from the year they met until his last year! We lost the most wonderful man February 19, 2020 and many hearts are bleeding, especially mine, Alyson.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
