My father Chester Dutkowski found out just before his retirement that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Throughout his life, he had been an active and fit man. He never had a "poor me" attitude. Just like every other adversity he had faced in his life, he made the best of a bad situation. He was always interested in the people around him, wanting to hear their stories, wanting to stay connected.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $2 billion in high-impact research funded to date.
