My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's on 12/21/08. It was a tough day and tough months followed for our family. A diagnosis can do 1 of 2 things, it can break you and rip your soul to shreds OR it can open your eyes and show you the true meaning of life and what's really important and valuable. I'm thankful to say my dad chose #1 and my mom and I followed his lead. We don't take each other for grated and everytime my kids get to see their grandparents I'm thankful in knowing that they'll have these memories with them to cherish forever. I pray (more like beg) the Lord everyday for a cure but I also thank him for the opportunity to realize how amazing of a man my father is and that we are closer now than we've ever been. Happy Father's Day Dad! Love you lots!
