This is a tribute to my mother Eunice Hicks Barnett who had Parkinson's disease for most of her life and lived with the disease without complaint weathering the effects of severe tremors which caused her to have to sign her name with an X in her later years. She still paid all her bills and exercised fairly often. She had a spirit that kept her going no matter how difficult the obstacles she faced. Her lifestyle is an inspiration to me today as I also have Parkinson's disease.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
