My husband Lee has had Parkinson's since about 2012 or was diagnosed then. He was shaking just a bit and also felt like his walking and balance was a bit off.
He'd been working hard every day getting up at 6:00, getting a shower and grabbing coffee and off to work, sometimes driving hours to get to Northern VA from our house in Baltimore, before that places in Los Angeles from our place in Westlake Village, and also most recently Silver Springs MD close to DC. from our home in Owings Mills, MD.
He's a sweet, caring, and generous man, not only to me but to his children, also to my kids and also to everyone he's worked with. People love his sense of humor and fairness in work, respect him and what he has tried to do for his family, all of them, love him. He loves to laugh, sometimes is a bit quiet but has a great sense of humor.
He also has a big heart and would help anyone, most loving to his 2 brothers and his sister as well as my sister and brother like they are his own.
As Parkinson's disease had started to take its toll, we moved to Minneapolis in 2017, after all, we were retired! He cared for me with not only one major shoulder surgery in 2016, but also again in 2018 after major surgery on my other shoulder!
He has always been here for me. Now I am here for him. There have been some changes. It's harder for him to walk, he doesn't like to go to the gym or exercise anymore,
but he still gets around.
