$206.00David Joseph Parker 86, of Riverview, FL (formerly of Bradenton, FL), passed away on April 16, 2020. David was born in Brook Village, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. He held a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Bachelors degree in Engineering from St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia and a Hydroelectric Engineering Certification from Nova Scotia Technical University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
David was renowned in the field of hydroelectric engineering. David initially worked for Canadian General Electric in Peterborough, Ontario. He married Barbara (Dillon) and they started their family. In 1980, David was recruited by Siemens and moved his family to Wauwatosa, WI and subsequently Bradenton, FL in 1984. While working for Siemens, he was the Chief Engineer and Head Designer for the hydroelectric generator at the Grand Coulee Dam. At the age of 55, David founded his own business, General Power Engineering Associates and among his many accomplishments, invented a hydroelectric generator powered by harnessing the tide’s power.
David is survived by the love of his life, wife, Barbara, his son, John and daughter-in-law, Christine, grandchildren, Madison, Emery and Liam; his son, Michael, grandson, Mikey; his daughter, Suzanne and son-in-law, Chris Wacker, grandsons, Sean and Colin; his son, Steven and daughter-in-law, Rachel, grandchildren, Ella, David, Ben, and Catherine; his son Andrew and daughter-in law, Caitlin, grandson, Luke. David is also survived by his brothers, Alex and sister-in-law, Margaret; Peter and sister-in-law, Willena; Donald and sister-in-law, Sandy; his sisters, Sister Theresa, csm; Sally and brother-in-law, Stanley MacDonell, his sister, Ann and brother-in-law, Larry Dillon, his brother-in-law, James Campbell and sister-in law, Rose Deagle. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ann and Dan Parker, brother, Malcolm and sister, Jessie Campbell.
