Anita C. Parker (nee DeNorcia), 87, of Roseland, died on April 4, 2020.
Born and raised in East Orange, Anita settled in Roseland in 1957 where she and her husband raised their family. She was a good neighbor and friend to many in the community, quiet, but with an infectious laugh. After years as a homemaker, Anita entered the workforce, blossoming as a sales associate in the china and glass department at Bloomingdales in the Mall at Short Hills. Anita worked in the department for over 20 years where she made many lifelong friends.
Despite battling Parkinsons, Anita always had a smile and wry wit. She loved cats, but due to severe allergies, her friends and family were content to ply her with cartoons, cards, and trinkets featuring every manner of cat on special occasions. She loved this menagerie into her old age and never lost her appetite for pizza and tiramisu, a testament to her Italian heritage!
Anita is pre-deceased by her husband, Harold Parker.
She is survived by her beloved children, Donna Merrill and Greg Parker and his wife Stephanie; cherished grandson, Matthew Merrill; loving brothers, Albert DeNorcia and Ronald DeNorcia and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Despite her struggles with Parkinson's disease and dementia near the end of her life her caring ways were always clearly noticeable.
