James "Jim" Simpson of Clovis, CA was born December 2, 1946 to James and Mary Paulson.

Jim was a member of the Fresno First Presbyterian Church; he attended Fresno schools and was a graduate of Fresno State University. Jim served in the Army National Guard and taught school for a couple of years before beginning a long career in the field of social services. Jim worked for the California Indian Manpower Corporation (CIMC) in Sacramento, the Yolo County Private Industry Council and then for the last 25 years of his career worked for the Shasta County Smart Business Resource Center, (SMART). Jim served as the Deputy Director for many years.

He was a very intelligent and caring soul and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Jim was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at age 59 (2005). Jim was courageous in his battle with Parkinson's and he always tried to remain positive. By 2010, Jim began dealing with Dementia as well. His family and friends provided their love and support and Jim always knew how much everyone cared for him and loved him.

On May 9, 2015, Jim passed away peacefully after a long 8 year battle with Parkinson's and Dementia. Jim is survived by his wife Sharon; his son, Robert; daughter in law Brandy; and three grandchildren, Melody, Keeley and Wyatt. Jim is also survived by his brother, Thomas Paulson Simpson of Chula Vista, CA and John Simpson of Fresno, CA.
