My Mom, Karen, is an absolute saint. She devoted her entire life to raising 3 children and supporting my dad in everything he did. Karen never said a negative word about anyone. In fact, I never heard her raise her voice. She was always there for us. I am so blessed to have a mom like her. So funny how we appreciate our parents more when we are older and wiser, right? Her friends are vast because of who she is--a warm and loyal friend.
She found out she had Parkinson's about 10 years ago. Since that time, she has been positive, hopeful, continuing to think about the needs of others before her own.
Currently, my mom is in a living situation she is not happy with (a locked memory care unit). There is much stress in our family as we navigate the next steps for her. My prayer is that this may be fixed, so that we might return to her, up until her last days, all the happiness that she has given us.
