Raised in Tribute:
$245.00Evelyn, born in Lawrence and raised in Methuen, graduated from Searles High School in 1949 and spent thirty years working for the IRS as a tax review auditor. In 1950, Evelyn married her best friend and childhood neighbor, Charles DiDio, and together they shared sixty-four wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, Nana, and great-Nana.
Evelyn and Charles loved to travel with their friends and family, including many trips to Florida, the Caribbean, and Las Vegas. In retirement, she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida where she could spend time with her sisters relaxing, shopping, and enjoying the sunshine.
Family is what mattered most to Evelyn. One of her favorite pastimes was to spend long days at Salisbury Beach, cooking her famous chicken cutlets and eggplant, playing cards and checkers, watching the Price is Right and Jay Leno, and playing with her grandchildren. Committed to keeping her family’s Italian traditions alive, Evelyn was always sure to bring her family together every Sunday for an afternoon of food, laughter, and love.
As most of you know, Evelyn was diagnosed with Parkinsons five years ago, and the disease rapidly started to effect her in the last two. In lieu of flowers, if you feel like supporting the research cause, please use this link to do so.
