$126.50A LIFE WELL LIVED
On January 9th, 2020 our beloved wife, mother and grandmother left this world to go home to her savior Jesus Christ. She fought a gallant fourteen year effort against Parkinson's disease, even though she wasn't able to tolerate any of the available medications that might have eased her suffering. In the end, Parkinson's did not win against our Ruby, because she looked forward to the time when she could be in heaven with Jesus, feeling no pain and being able to dance again. You see, she became a prolific ballroom dancer starting in 1969 at the age of 33 when she and her husband Ellis took note of an expert dance couple on the floor at a company Christmas party. From that time on, she danced for forty years until the disease took its toll and prevented her from doing the things she loved most. But what a dance life she lived. Starting with beginner lessons from a local teacher, thru advanced lessons that lead to being teachers on a cruise ship, and finally to teaching dancing themselves locally for thirty years, Ruby simply loved to dance with Ellis and they loved to see the students that they taught enjoying dancing as well. Ruby had a vivacious and outgoing personality and loved to laugh and joke and have fun wherever she was. We could feel sorry for her and dwell on the fact that Parkinson's Disease ended her life far too early. But we will not do that, because Ruby would much prefer that we dwell on what an extraordinary life she did have.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
