Thank you for visiting the tribute page for Neill Pennell Overman, Jr.
Neill, known by many of his family and friends as "Penn," was a genuine, warm, affectionate and honest person, a loving husband, and a devoted and deeply involved dad, who made everyone around him feel at ease.
He was a successful entrepreneur, a skilled equestrian, an avid fan of John Denver and Neil Diamond, adept with every farm tool known to man, and giddy on a tractor. He loved animals of all types and sizes, and he built a career around that love, founding a publishing company and a major conference devoted to serving the veterinary field. In his work, he encouraged people to be themselves and to remember that family comes first. Leaving work early to get to a child's game or recital was always encouraged. And, of course, pets were fixtures in the office.
Neill said countless times: "Never take your health for granted, and always count your blessings." He said these things and he lived them. We all miss this gregarious, curious, hard-working, hard-playing, and very loving Dad, Husband, Family Member, Friend and Colleague.
Thank you for visiting this site and for considering support for the Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of Penn, and the joyous quality of life he achieved despite his battle with Parkinson's disease.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $2 billion in high-impact research funded to date.
