It is with deep sorrow that we note the passing of Mrs. Mali Shafei, beloved mother and grandmother. Mali was born in Rasht, Iran in 1937 and had an extraordinary upbringing as one of nine – including four sisters and four brothers.
In 1956, she married Mansour Niczad, who preceded her in death in 2012. They were married for sixty-two years. She is survived by her two children, Elaheh and Amir; three grandchildren, Sanam, Mateen, and Kian; a great grandchild, Luke; her son-in-law Mohammad Alinaghi; and her daughter-in-law Sheila Niczad. Friends and family were fortunate enough to spend time with their “Mammani” as she celebrated her 82nd birthday this year.
For thirty years she made the United States her home, and her grandchildren were blessed to be raised by her during that time. She loved her family very much and wanted to spend all of her time with them. She enjoyed taking long walks in the park, reading the newspaper, talking to her sisters on the phone, and solving crossword puzzles. She always looked out for others and cared deeply for everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was loved by many and will be missed.
