Raised in Tribute:
$553.00On the 20th of October 2019 the world lost Anne Doherty, my mother, the most caring, inspirational and wonderful woman I knew. She handled her Parkinson's the same way she handled life, with wit, humor, dignity, and strength. Every day she touched people’s lives in a way few can. She always had a smile on her face and wanted everyone to smile with her. She prided herself on the fact that everywhere she went, there was laughter. It didn't matter if it was home, out, in the hospital or a rehabilitation center, she brought laughter.
I saw her as a rock, a foundation, on which I built my life. Even though she is gone from all of us too soon, she will continue to be that foundation. Her biggest goal in the last two years was "beat this thing called Parkinson's". She tried to do that every day, and despite the struggle it caused, she soldiered on with a smile on her face. Nothing could have prepared us for her sudden departure from our lives, but in her honor we should all soldier on with a smile on our faces, that she puts there every time we think of her.
In her tribute, we kindly ask that you donate to The Michael J. Fox Foundation in support of her goal to “beat this thing called Parkinson's". Together we can continue her fight to help all the other mothers, daughters, wives, fathers, sons, husbands, and siblings inflicted with and affected by this disease that steals so much from their lives. Thank you.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
