$637.75Bernie Babka was a lifelong resident of the Chicago area. He was married to his soul mate, Ellie, for 63 years. They raised two successful daughters, and enjoyed two beautiful grandchildren. Bernie was an architect and a principle partner of the firm Hammond Beeby & Babka who were responsible for many AIA award winning buildings including the Harold Washington Library, Chicago, Illinois. Bernie was an active member in the American Sokol Organization and held many positions of responsibility including unit President. He served on the District 100 School Board and oversaw the construction and renovation of several schools. He was vested in his family and his community. His vigor and energy were gradually slowed and consumed by the disease that is Parkinson's. It is a disease that involves and impacts entire families along with individuals. My Dad would be pleased to know that you are contributing to help make the future of others a bit brighter by finding a cure.
