Carl Northgard was one of those extraordinary people who led many different lives. He was an artist, a teacher, and a gifted stage actor. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, a faithful friend, a lovely human being. At first his illness was so subtle that we were able to pretend it wasn't there. Over time it became apparent that Carl was being taken from us by this relentless, merciless, determined disease. But now that it's finally claimed him, our memories refuse to forget this magnificent man. He stills makes us laugh and cry. He lives! And he will always be alive each time we visit that special place in each of our hearts that he touched. We are glad that he and Priscilla found each other on this crowded planet. To recall him is to recall her. They were - are - one. So let's raise a glass and toast Carl and Pris Northgard: thanks for the love you shared with us. Thanks for standing up to Parkinson's. Thanks for showing us what love and marriage are all about. To quote Bob Hope: thanks for the memories.
