Raised in Tribute:
$103.00Shirley Dugan is from New Bedford, Massachusetts. She was born November 18th, 1928, and recently passed at the age of 90 after being affected by Parkinson's disease for about 10 years. She had a wonderful long career doing accounting at General Motors. She was with her husband Thomas for 45 years before his passing, and together they loved to travel and go on cruises. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother, guardian and caretaker for her daughters and grandkids, and extended her love and home to those who needed it. Her favorite hobby was watching TV and Movies, and could always be found watching her "stories".
She lived a long life full of love, but suffered from Parkinson's as well as dementia. Healthy in all other aspects, she was strong and didn't let it bring her down until she could no longer care for herself. She had the tremor common with the disease, as well as it effecting her balance and communication. We know now she is resting easy, reunited with her love, and watching over her family, as she always did.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
