$281.36Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 15 years ago. Since that time he spent countless hours researching the disease. Never once did he complain or feel sorry for himself about his diagnosis of Parkinson's. He only set out to help others in the fight. He referenced Michael J. Fox and his battle with the disease many times in his research. Tom started a Parkinson's support group in his own town. He ran the meetings and would present his recent findings to the group weekly. Tom, together with his wife Mary, put together many binders full of Parkinson's data and his research that he would share with the group. In addition he and Mary would present his findings to nurses and medical personal at local hospitals. He was always ready to share his vast knowledge with those in and out of the medical community. Tom was a brave fighter. Unfortunately he lost his battle and passed away on March 25th due to his advanced Parkinson's. We will remember his strong sense of family, and generous heart.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
