My dad, Cosme, was a Jack of all trades. He could build anything and make anything work in his favor. He was the type of man that would take the shirt off his back if you needed it and would stop on the highway to help you out. He resides currently in a long term facility. It is unfortunate, however with the decline in mobility and guided care he needed called for this place. I am fortunate to see him routinely as I work there and the nurses always keep me informed. He is now 72 and has been with Parkinson's for 16 years now. I remember the last real hug he gave me and it was like he was saying good bye. He has great days and not so great days. Sometimes, the hallucinations would get the best of him and psychosis would settle in. Not matter what happens I pray everyday that God allows him to keep his memory and never forget who we are and how much we love him.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
