Denny was a wonderfully caring and giving person, who was raised in the Shippan section of Stamford where he raised two sons, DJ and Matthew. He retired to Hutchinson Island in Stuart, Florida. Denny’s successful sales career began in notions and expanded to radio, bedding, hauling, corporate cleaning and he ultimately retired from the cellular business. He was a mentor to countless new and experienced salespeople. He served as President of the Connecticut Business Environmental Council and was the Tennis Chairman at the Stamford Yacht Club. Denny enjoyed tennis, golf and boating and had been a member of the Stamford, Ponus and Fayerweather Yacht Clubs. He is best remembered for his incredible generosity and genuine interest in the well being of everyone that he met. He is survived by his wife Tresha, DJ Donahue, Matt and Tara Donahue, Howard and Alexis Hone as well as four grandchildren Grace and Kyle Donahue and Reno and Reece Hone, as well as siblings, Jack and Lynn Donahue, Gingi and Barry Donohue, Donny Donahue, Tim and Jayne Donahue, Patrick and Debbie Donahue, CD Donahue, David Donahue, Anne and Tom Geary, Mary and Glenn Grella, Margaret Donahue and Eileen Donahue and many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of his life in July. Denny was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and Myelodysplastic Syndrome MDS so in his honor please consider donating blood or giving to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
