Raised in Tribute:
$1000.00Mom was an awesome woman. She gave her life to raising her four children and several of their friends that had difficult situations at home. Mom always found a way to make ends meet as a single mother always working several jobs. A true friend to all that knew her and always there to support you. We had a great life as all four children are hard working decent people with a foundation based on love and helping others, simply said, she passed her giving heart to her children. Mom was a great southern style cook- the food looked pretty scary, but was always delicious!! She always said peanut oil was the secret to great fried chicken. Mom never had an easy life, but she found true love twenty eight years ago with her life partner- Dan Ruffino. They lived together and shared a wonderful life until eighteen months ago. Home nursing was not enough and the decision was made to move her to the nursing home to get better care and a social life. Mom always struggled with poor eyesight and was considered legally blind at forty two years old. She never let this get in her way in living life the best she could given her limitations. Parkinson's set in about five years ago. Current medication helped, but the shaking made it difficult to maintain the ability to feed herself and made it extremely frustrating for this highly independent woman. Mom was wonderful person who set an example of never giving up and making the best of how it all turned out. We love and miss you very much.
