Over 20 years ago, Ellen took care of her father who had Parkinson's disease. He was a kind man who died a painful death. He was my grandpa's brother. After the death of her parents, Ellen was fiercely independent after living her entire life with her mother and father. She was not alone, however, as her family and dear friends loved her and looked out for her. This week, Ellen passed peacefully after her own painful journey with Parkinson's. My hope is that research will lead to a cure or way to prevent another generation from facing this debilitating disease!
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
