On November 12, 2018, my dad, Joseph (Joe) Gracia, passed away due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was a beloved son, brother, husband of 63 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the USS Gustafson (DE 182).
Joe worked for almost forty years as a truck tire builder for the Goodrich Tire Company. In addition, he was a professional musician for over sixty years in a Tristate Polka and wedding band. He was a friend to many and was always there to give a helping hand. In later years, Joe was a member of morning coffee clubs, and he especially enjoyed being part of the Monday morning clean up crew at the church picnic grove. He loved talking about the good old days.
Joe also enjoyed going on his yearly hunting trip with family members and friends and was a Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder for almost forty-five years. His Parkinson’s diagnosis forced him to give up many of the things he loved.
