Raised in Tribute:
$75.00Our brother Alan Pick passed from complications from Parkinson's Disease. Alan fought this illness with dignity and fierce independence. My family and I will miss him very much, as he was our most determined member that tired to keep us all connected. Not an easy job for the Pick family. Even through his latest physical struggles he volunteered at local Chicago charities and was a good friend to many of his neighbors at the 'Y' , where he lived for the last several years. He loved Chicago and his family very much. He had a quirky sense of humor and tested our patience at times. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served overseas in Korea. After returning from Korea he helped my Dad with our business, which he absolutely loved. We got to celebrate many his birthdays with all the Chicago cousins and our last big family visit together was in the old Pick Fisheries building on Fulton Street that is now Carnivale Restaurant. I am so proud of him with his, strength, resilience and persistence to live as full a life as possible. I good lesson to all of us. He made the very most of his life of late mostly with the help of my brother Mike and his family. May his memory be a blessing. Shalom my dear brother.
